Do not use Everbee of anyone's stats showing that anyone on Etsy sold $10K in sales in 1 month. It is a guest-a-mate. The totals come, on many items from months ago, i.e. over the course of 3 month of the Christmas season, or maybe 1 month 2 years ago that an item sold and are not accurate at all as to up to date or current information. Just because an item sold as some point in time, such as the Christmas season, doesn't mean that that item is now a hot seller on Etsy. You have to combine the information with months of personal research of tag words actual sales evaluations, sale prices and time of year of sales and when is a customer mostly like to buy the item. Somethings sell better at different time of year and then drop off the planet due to lack of interest, changes in styles, or people no longer going to Etsy looking for that item. They can drop off due to China or India sales for pennies on the dollar of what you can hand make it for and their items are made with heavy machine equipment copying what you make. In addition, anything that you sell on Etsy, you will need to learn marketing 101. Meaning you will need to do all of your own marketing to bring sales to your Etsy store. Don't waste your time trying to follow Etsy's algorithm. It is now based upon the person's individual web searches based upon what Etsy thinks they are most likely to buy. You will need to invest hours of your time doing personal research to verify any and all information that you received about Etsy and you will be wasting your time and chasing the ever elusive sale that doesn't exist on Etsy native searches. Find something you love to do and enjoy regardless of the stress levels. Then learn if others are interested in what you have to offer. Going to local craft fairs, joining forces with other family members to set up a booth, can help you find what will work for you with less financial output, stress and hours of time and potentially greater sales. Then if you want to move on to Etsy as your first web based sales, you will have a foundation of what works for you. Never try to copy other sellers on Etsy. You don't know who they are marketing too or where their market is focused. That information is not available. Rules of marketing always be testing. Don't invest your time chasing after something that doesn't exist on Etsy's native searches. And Don't COPY other seller's products. Be your own unique you. That is what makes the difference.

I just started an Etsy store which was a miserable experience having to try to list a print-on-demand product as you can't open a store without first listing a product at the same time! I'm doing this just to get off the ground, and was immediately suspended! My computer must be watching me as it brought me right here while on RUclips. I guess I'm done with Etsy before I even started. No idea how I will get off of the ground now, terrible.

Est. Mo. Revenue and Est. Mo. Sales are counted by the Everbee algorithm, it's not solid data. For revenue it always gives you value with FULL PRICE when you can see items daily are on sale, here art was -25%. Based on an item from my shop - I had 15 pcs sold per month when Everbee saw 38 and that was the closest match compared to items where it saw X5 higher sales. As mentioned item revenue has doubled since I run daily discounts between -50 -70%. For my 10 stores digital art stores not a single one had accurate data, with 3 extreme samples where the monthly revenue show in Everbee was higher than actual yearly revenue. Btw Everbee and Alura have almost 1:1 data. Compared with last year for shops with digital art revenue is reduced around 50-80% depending on niche. It's now (middle season) ~500$ up to 800$ monthly in revenue (not profit) with +1k products, few Etsy picks and bestseller badges, and high traffic from SM. If you are thinking of starting with a low price pay attention that Etsy fees with low prices will take around 50% of revenue (without ads) - selling 1$ item as a price fighter will leave you paying Etsy not really making money selling on Etsy (0.20*2 listing, 6.5% provision, 0.3+ % processing fee). I'm not saying don't do that - I'm saying do your math first. With limited traffic and low order value it will be painful. I'm the owner of a marketing agency but I graduated from the graphic designer so Etsy and Ai art is my fun time. Still everything was set up as a business to collect data. If you decide to sell AI, even free ones like made in Leonardo, for selling HQ files - external storage is needed, and it's not free. For me it was just a side hustle/experiment to check and compete different niches, and it's not so easy or passive. And yes - copycats, even that shop with Christian art you can find now at least 4 shops copping market leader (shop shown in video wasn't the first one using this style). How fast people will copy your bestsellers? Instantly. Including Temu and shein sellers - fun fact if Etsy bot will find your artwork on Chinese marketplaces your Shop will be closed since they are fighting with dropshipping items. If someone will take your artwork and sell it as your own - it's really hard to do something. I lost over a month to prove it was my art work (not AI but originally made in Illustrator) where another seller just cut the bottom of artwork with a watermark and posted as printed item... Guess what? They can't say who the creator is. So... There really are different niches more stress less, and more profitable.

Could you do a deep dive on doing prints and wall art, starting from creating the images, to making the mock-ups, to setting a reasonable delivery time for POD items (so that it isn't too long for the buyers but leaves enough time for the sellers), etc? You have many videos on ideas, though many beginners do need a bit of hand-holding to start on the journey. Thank you very much.

The reason why I decided to start my own website is because I'm a small digital artist and although Etsy looks good they have too much control and you just get lost in the crowd. Glad I made the decision to invest in my own website it may take longer to get sales but at least its mine.

Same thing happened to me last week with Etsy! And to think they ask for like around $15 registration fee only to permanently suspend you the following week. They wont even explain to you what the exact violation was or at least give you a chance to rectify it. They can just remove the items with alleged violations from the listing, why suspend the seller’s account right away?
